2 more days 'til I'm in the Ham!
Hi ladies,
I have to say, I'm really glad the blog has caught a second wind! I know we all run out of things to say off and on, but it's good that we can bring it back :) Like 'porch monkies' in Clerks II. Speaking of that movie, it reminds me of the 1st one, which reminds me of Crystal... anyone seen her lately?
April... if you decide to go to UT you should get a hold of Aaron's mom, she might have some advice. Maybe you could work for her! LOL. My mom said you should like your new job better, it wasn't so long ago that she was hangin' with the activities crew at st catherines. Bud Droll back in the indy house again? nuts, poor guy! My dad hasn't called me actually since I talked with him on his birthday. His bday (grandpa) is middle of July, he'll be 93!
Jenna... hope your feeling well and holding down your cookies! I talked to my cousin Amber the other night, she's havin a girl this time and says she's been sick a lot more than with Josh. She also insists that being 3 yrs older is making it much more tiring... so keep poppin 'em out early!
If you're making jabs at me b/c you want me to call more or something, I'm not going to catch on via guilt trip... my parents have been doing that for years. Just the same as I can't stay awake anymore for my dad's old stories about almost drowning in the boat, I just sorta block that stuff out :) It's a coping mechanism I believe.... else I would be on a cocktail of crazy pills by now.
I do hope to see you one of these days! You & Eric should come visit soon. I imagine I will be out to see you in the next year, but probably not at thanksgiving. I ditched Scott last year for both holidays, and promised not to this year. Also, I would really rather visit sans all the NE family gatherings in Elgen (sp?). It always feels like we spend more time with the extended family than with you. No offense to them, but I come there to visit you & Eric + kiddies. However, I totally think you're on the right page to do the baptism sooner than later, that's not really something that should wait a long time.
Liz... we tried to ride the swan boats last weekend after the BBQ beach party, but they close hella early! Rats. Keep the good career ideas coming :) I've changed my mind about the Coach purse, I'm glad I didn't impulse buy... I don't really like it anymore, it's got too much goin on (just looked at it again today). I'm gonna do some serious shopping though while I'm living in the ham.
I should have totally put in my damn a/c, it's like 90 degrees in here! Can't wait 'till the moving madness is over! Send some cool my way :)

No more Independence House...yeaaahhhhh!
So...April, I asked my mom about the wage for sure. She said she'd look today, but she's pretty sure it's about $9, maybe a little more. Also, she said if Ind. House doesn't want you to work after this schedule, you could let them know. They usually end up doing an extra orientation because often they hire a nurse & need one in between the scheduled ones. So...you could probably end up starting a little earlier. I do think the paralegal idea is a really good one (if I do say so myself :) ). There aren't that many classes involved in getting a post-bacc certificate & maybe you could actually get a job without moving to another state! Did you look anymore at the online ones? I did look around at them a little to compare them with Toledo (as far as how the program works, cost, etc.) Toledo is around $270 per hour. Some of the online program were more, some less. I guess it just depends on what kind of program you like. I will say, one good thing about the UT program is the internship thing (I imagine that would help people get a job more easily) & they're an ABA approved school (which I don't know if that means squat...other than they consider it a high quality education or whatever). BG does offer a certificate through their professional & community ed program (I think the paralegal studies is actually through some online ed thing, but somehow affiliated with BG). This one looks like a pretty good program if you wanted one of the totally online ones. They say it's 225 hours (apparently that's the estimated actual number of hours to complete the course, which they give you up to 6 mos. to do). Here's their website...

Anyhow, hopefully you'll find a school/program you like & it would work out :)
I don't have any news peeps (I pretty much never do).
Off to my haircut...

Another sunny day....
Yeah I knew you weren't a phone talker, Liz:) That's not what I was getting at anyway. So anyway, April, to answer your question, no I will not be finished with my Master's quite yet, I'm just taking a couple more classes this summer. I think I might be finished next year sometime. I'm only taking 2 classes at a time and working on a SPED endorsement, so I'm taking it easy. It might take me a while, but I'll get there.
I will post some cruise pics on here too, for anyone who doesn't go to MySpace very often. I don't think there's much else going on right now. Gotta keep Emma from pulling things over.
Oh....her current status is 18 lbs, 12 oz, 28 " long, enjoys crawling, crying and throwing fits. Most engaged in a gold ball with a string at this time. She got her 1 year checkup yesterday and 4 more shots and a finger poke for anemia. She's back to normal today so far. I had a dream last night that she said like 4 words to me in a sentence. She says mama and dada and a few other things.
April- I have a feeling she will be just like you when it comes to shopping- A Coach bag it is! LOL (and that's OK with me) :) She deserves it.

Oh, another idea, April!
(Like you need more...LOL!) But this is actually a pretty good idea (at least I think so...). Have you ever considered paralegal? It's a pretty good career field. It's one of the fastest growing actually...companies are hiring them instead of lawyers to reduce costs, etc & salaries are like $40-50,000ish (depending on where you work, etc). You had been interested in law at one time...it wouldn't be as long a path as lawyer. Since you already have a bachelor's degree, you could do a certificate program (I think UT has one that's like 2 semesters or something). My mom has considered becoming a legal nurse consultant, so she'd thought of getting a paralegal certificate. Anyhow, more career sh*t to think about :)

'Lo Jenna!
Hey, Jenna! Yeah, I know I could call (not much of a phone talker...) or email, too :) Anyhow, glad Emma had a fab 1st B-day & that you guys had a good time on the cruise...I didn't even know you were going! My mom & I had talked about going with her sister's family several years ago, but never did. Anyhow, hope you're feeling ok now!
April...I'll be seeing you tomorrow, but hope your interview goes well...I'm sure it will. My mom said Chrissy really wants to hire you...so as long as you don't come to the interview as a total slob/dumbass (LOL), I think you'll be cool.
Nothing newsy with me. Work, shower, sleep, eat...that's pretty much it...LOL (and teeth stuff).

Boston Pics
Not sure what this is I think it's a church but I thought it was a cool pic
I'm all wet and not sticky LOL
I really didnt think I was sweating that bad LOL!
Us in the hotel room before going to the Casino
all here and accounted for!
Yeah good times were had in Boston.....I'll post some pics. Yea for finding a place in Newton! Work sounds boring LOL. Yeah I know my life blows...cant find a job that I want. I've been thinking alot about what I should do with my life and maybe teaching isnt it. I mean I've looked in other states, I went to a job fair in North Carolina and nothing came from that and I've looked in Michigan and they are in the same boat as Ohio NO JOBS....not really willing to move anywhere else for a teaching job. I not really sure that is even what I want to do anymore....I just went on the interviews because the BGSU thing fell through. I do have an "interview" at St Catherine's for activities assistant on Thursday........Im thinking that is my best option right now and then I'm thinking I want to reapply to the program at BG because I got a letter today saying all I have to do is let the graduate college know if I want to be considered for next summer's admissions. And if that doesnt work I think I might think about starting back at school to get a physical therapy degree. HAHA I like the idea of the list of possible jobs...you guys forgot

Happy June!
Well, folks,
I decided to stop posting since I posted sometime forever ago and no one responded, so I figured the blog was done for. I got an email from Katie saying everyone wanted to know what I was up to. For those of you who don't know, I have a couple email addresses in which you could reach me: jlordemann@hotmail.com, babyface435_33@yahoo.com OR I have a working phone, which is (402) 649-3010, just FYI. Yes, I'm taking pot-shots at ya'll. :)
I have actually been busy this summer. A couple of things have happened. Our desktop computer crashed completely, so we decided to get a Dell laptop. We quite enjoy it - and so does Emma. Her fingerprints are all over it! Thank goodness for glass cleaner.
I have been hurling a lot this summer- and not due to anything pregnancy - like. I spent one Friday morning in the ER because I had been puking every hour or 2 pretty much all night and into the morning, and I KNEW something was wrong. The stupid ER doc. tried to tell me it was just my uterus pushing up into my stomach, causing me to hurl?? DON'T THINK SO! Well, they fixed me up and made me feel better after they left me for an hour b/c they had a code blue and decided that the dead guy was more important than me. That's OK, they were so bored that night they gave me a free ultrasound:) Guess what- we don't know the sex yet:) They didn't really know how to operate the ultrasound, but that's OK, this one is quite the mover! But, 2 days later, Eric was puking every hour too - don't suppose he is pregnant too, do you?
Emma had a great 1st birthday! She had fun, or so it would seem from the pictures! I posted a collage type thing on MySpace. I think it's pretty cool. I also posted pictures from our Disney Cruise. I don't know if anyone knew that we were going on that, but it was a ton of fun. So much better than paying bills :)
I'm still working on classes for my Master's in Reading K-12. The classes aren't too bad, overall. They should be done by June 30.
Went boating last Saturday, didn't do anything on Father's Day. I went tubing too, which you probably shouldn't do when pregnant.
April - My suggestion for the job situation would be to think about what you really want to do. If you want to teach, then maybe expand your range of looking. If you are just looking in Ohio, you probably are limiting yourself a bit. I have to say, that I am STILL looking, because while I have a job, as we talked about- it's not what I really want to do, but it's a stepping stone. I'm thinking about applying for jobs in SD. I took the Praxis II and the PLT, so I can keep my options open if I decide to move to another state at all. So, if we move closer to Ohio, I could work there if I wanted. I have to admit that I have been thinking about you and school jobs b/c there was a few openings around here. I'm not saying anything about moving, but I think you should really consider having an open mind about this, if it is what you want to do. We could always think things through together some time. If anything, it might make you feel better?
Liz-I hope you get your teeth problems all fixed! I have to have some wisdom teeth pulled sometime, but I'm not looking forward to that at all!
Katie - hope you enjoyed your visitors - I don't know much about what is going on over there because no one has told me. I actually have pretty much no idea what you guys did while Liz & April were there, or what you have been doing as you seem to have forgotten me....'sniff sniff'.
Ok, well, I'll catch ya on the flip side!

Yeaaaa...another poster :)
That's great you found a place you like, KT! Can't wait to see pics:)
So...the list of options for you, April (instead of welfare momma...I like that...LOL!)...here are my opinions on KT's list...
1. Wedding planner - I know you'd love that...but how do you get started doing that, esp. around here?!?
2. Marry some rich guy - who doesn't love that idea! (but where to find one...)
3. Peace corp - hmmm...I think this could be cool (I considered it for a little while)...but I know I wouldn't probably have the guts do that, how 'bout you??
4. Rock star - yeah, try out for Idol...LOL!
5. Go to law school like you wanted to way back in the day... you did win a lawsuit after all :) - this if my favorite!...we could do that together & you could probably find that rich guy to marry! (2 birds with one stone :) )
6. teach english in another country.. eh, that would probably suck - basically the same as the peace corps
7. Marry the rich guy :) - like I said, law school baby!
my only idea...8. be an activities assistant (for now)...LOL! I don't have any ideas :)
Anyhow, hope your move goes well, KT. Jenna you need to post!
April, my mom said she'd be ready to go about 5:30ish on Wed, but you can come over anytime (I'll probably nap until about 4).

Here I am... :)
Hey ladies, sorry I didn't know anyone was actually posting until April told me. I'm glad ya'll had fun in spite of the shitty weather. In hind site I would have planned differently to make the most of our non-rain days in Boston, but who knew Monday would be so crappy! I guess mondays are like that, Knocked up was really funny though!
I'm gonna fall off the radar probably for a week or so while I get ready to move to the Ham. I sold my computer desk saturday so I'm sitting on the floor indian style to write this.
Quick news: We found a place in Newton! YaY :) I'll take lots of pictures and post them somewhere after we get settled in August. It was a bit of a battle, but I think we snagged a good one. Our landlord seems really neat too, she is from Kenya, grew up in England. She reminds me of an African grandma droll, it's really weird! She wanted a couple in the bottom floor w/ no kids b/c that's what she has upstairs. They just moved in and she wanted to pick someone she thought they could be friends with... kinda crazy, but we'll take it !
Work: The lab data peeps came from Buffalo today and presented all day, I thought of Liz! It was a whole day of aliquot this, and purple label that :)
April: I'm so sorry to hear that... freakin blows! I swear, you have had terrible luck the past few years with these jobs, and it sure isn't anything you deserve. Maybe you should try a crazy drastic change if none of that works out, like the peace corp or something. Something to shake the rut. I think you should go into wedding planning :) Let's make a list that doesn't include welfare momma!

Ahhhhh!
Okay, that totally bites! (but don't go all white trash, welfare chick on us just 'cause of that!...LOL). I was really feeling good about it for you, too, especially with more than 1 job open! Anyhow, so....wonder when the middle school will do interviews? We gotta come up with some kind of plan for ya, though, in case that doesn't work out (trying to be optimistic about it for you, but I guess we've seen that doesn't always work...blah!)...we can't leave ya stuck at Ind. House anymore!

and the job hunt continues
Well I got an email from the HS principal and they offered the positions to other people and he will definately forward my resume materials over to Leitzy to be considered for the middle school positions that are open. So that sucks
Why does it see that I cannot get anywhere in life. It seems that everything that I try to get I get a big fat rejection? Am I like some disfigured weirdo that can't seem to cut it. I'm about to give up and just go have a few babies and live off of welfare LOL that would be a hell of a lot easier. Im like the walking rejection. Anyway enough about that.
Stuck in Limbo,

Hope you heard something about second interviews (or will soon), April! I've been thinking about 'ya :)
I saw my oral surgeon on Tues...I didn't really get to have a full consultation, though, because my ortho's office forgot to send my x-rays & molds...grrrrr! Oh well, they OS didn't charge me anything, at least. I have to go back on July 5th for the 'real' consult. Until then, he just gave me a general idea of what he thinks, based on looking at my mouth, talking to me, & looking at the one x-ray he did have. Definitely the wisdom teeth & baby tooth are coming out, & at the same time they'll 'expose' that adult tooth that is up there. They'll probably wait until after that to do the surgery to put in the expander for my upper jaw (he thought that adult tooth might be in the way up in there when they do the surgery). For that, it'll be outpatient surgery at St. Luke's (off work a week...yay!). Then, (although he didn't say exactly when...but probably not until I've had braces for a while) I'll need lower jaw surgery most likely. My jaw is asymmetrical & sort of rotated toward the right side (midline is off like 6mm). He showed me pictures of a guy that had pretty much the exact same thing & they fixed it. That guy had bad wearing on his teeth...I don't have that so much the OS said because my tongue is too big (!) & it doesn't fit in my narrow upper jaw....so, it sits in my lower jaw & kinda causes my teeth to flare out. That surgery would be an overnight stay at St Luke's, with possible (although not always done) jaw wired shut! (liquid diet for 4 weeks!)...and off work about 2 weeks.
Bye (since you're all probably tired of hearing about my mouth, esp. April, since I told her this story yesterday...although who knows if any of the rest of you are even reading this. April & I seem to be the only posters, & we see each other all the time! ahemmm...hint hint!)

I saw my oral surgeon on Tues...I didn't really get to have a full consultation, though, because my ortho's office forgot to send my x-rays & molds...grrrrr! Oh well, they OS didn't charge me anything, at least. I have to go back on July 5th for the 'real' consult. Hey guys!
Well that sucks about UofM, April...but your odds at Fostoria sound pretty good! I'm rooting for ya :) (plus we wouldn't have to give up our 'dinner & a movie'...LOL).
What's up in Beantown, KT? I'm really glad we came to see you & Scott, even though we got drenched :). I don't think I could ever live in there, though...would not love doing the whole bus/subway thing everyday...especially for stuff like groceries & with kids, etc. Hope your RC went OK & that your tooth is feeling better.
Hey, Jenna...how's Emma...now that she's 1?!? Hopefully you guys got the package April & I sent for her birthday :) & hope your're feeling good! Got any thoughts on the boy/girl thing? I'm kinda hoping for a little guy this time 'round (there's just something about those cute little boys!)
Anyhows...nothing really new with me...back to the old grindstone at work. I've been feeling really crappy when I get up. I go to bed & sleep 8 hours or so but get up with a headache, etc, feeling like I slept an hour or something. I know a lot of it's the whole screwed up sleeping schedule/third shift thing...but it's seems especially bad lately. So...I went matress shopping last night, since I think that's a big part of it. It's amazing how different your mattress feels after you try out a million new (and expensive!) ones in a store. I thought mine was in fairly good shape yet (although it is 7 years old), but it's nothing like the ones I tried out...I wanted to lay down for a big nap right there! Anyhow, I found one but I have to wait for them to order it & deliver it next week...now it's hard going to bed in mine! Still working on getting going with my teeth/braces. I have an appointment to meet with my oral surgeon today to talk about expansion of my upper jaw/wisdom teeth & baby tooth extraction. I hope he gives me a surgery date. It seems like it's taking forever to get all this stuff done (appointments for x-rays, molds, fillings, periodontal checkups, etc)...the dentists/orthos/surgeons never seem to have an appointment until at least a month out. I just want to get the whole thing done...especially since I want to go back to school (but I don't want to do that until my teeth are fixed up since it takes a lot of time/money).
Well...I've been wordy enough...later!

U of M blows
Well all I told you that I would keep you informed of the haps in my life......U of M decided to hire internally and didnt even interview any of the BG people....the BG lady called me back and said she just got off the phone with them and thats what they did so she didnt even know so go blow U of M LOL!
Interviewed with FHS today and I think it went really well. Principal said that he wants to do 2nd interviews next week so I hope I get a call for that. Then he wants to have the hiring done by the June board meeting so whoever gets the job can be officially hired and then he wants to get the materials to the person....there is actually 2 positions open at the high school and probably gonna be 2 at the middle school. So with those odds I would hope I would get one of them. So keep your fingers crossed for me :) I really hope I get hired for one of them because I have decided that I would quit Indy House at the end of June if I did. They are bitches my boss wouldnt even let me take off a few minutes early today for my interview. She acted like it was a sin to want some time to get ready for.....just because she doesnt know how to dress up doesnt mean some of us others dont. grrrrrr I HATE INDEPENDENCE HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!
Well thats all for now
